Integrative Naturopath
Simple, accessible health—rooted in practicality, science, and honesty
Peace be with you, I'm Maryam
Growing up with a health-conscious mum who moved us to the country for fresh air, fresh eggs, fresh milk, and simple living, health felt like it was woven into my DNA. When she passed away from bowel cancer when I was just twelve, I felt a deep responsibility to carry on her legacy.
My mum was beautifully traditional and a true ‘crunchy mum,’ and while I carry her values with me, I’ve also carved out my own path, one that doesn’t fear-monger, force a one-size-fits-all approach, or dismiss the benefits of modern medicine. Instead, I believe in finding balance: combining Prophetic wisdom, natural therapies, and evidence-based care in a way that’s patient-centred, practical, and achievable in today’s world.
I’m a Naturopath, with an honours degree in gut microbiome research and am on my way to completing a Master of Public Health. These experiences allow me to bridge ancient traditions with evidence-based practice.
Alongside this, my own lived experience caring for my father, navigating his diabetes, heart disease, coeliac disease, and more recently, his stroke, has given me a personal understanding of the challenges families face. These experiences have shaped me, and I bring the empathy, tools, and resilience I’ve learned into every consultation.
I love sharing knowledge, whether through workshops, webinars, or my podcast (The STS Podcast). And I like to dedicate part of my time to volunteering in my community, because I believe giving back is at the heart of what I do.
So if this sounds like your cup of tea, I’d love to walk this journey to better health together.
As my client, you can expect a range of modalities and tools such as dietary modification, lifestyle support, hijama, herbal medicine, concomitant prescribing, nutritional supplements, and creative suggestions to improve everyday living.

Effective Hijama Therapy Sessions
Hijama, also known as wet cupping therapy, is a Prophetic practice with a rich history of supporting health and well-being. It works by drawing out stagnant blood and toxins, improving circulation, and stimulating the body’s natural healing processes. Many people find it helpful for pain relief, inflammation, stress, and overall health. In my practice, I provide a sunnah-focused hijama in a safe, cosy, hygienic setting.
Community work
Committed to Community Health
My passion for community work is deeply personal. Growing up with a mother who valued simple, traditional, and wholesome living, I learned early on that health is a gift and a responsibility. After losing her to bowel cancer, I felt a strong sense of duty to continue her legacy, one built on sharing knowledge, supporting others, and making health accessible to all.
I believe that:
Health should never be a luxury; everyone deserves access to good health.
Communities are stronger when people are empowered with knowledge and practical tools.
Education is prevention—and prevention is the most powerful form of healthcare.
Giving back is part of my professional and personal values; as both a health practitioner and a public health advocate, I see it as my responsibility to serve.

Naturopathy takes a holistic approach to health, looking at the root causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms. It can support a wide range of health concerns—from gut issues, fatigue, and hormonal imbalances to chronic disease management and preventative care. My focus is on tailoring treatment plans to your individual needs, using nutrition, lifestyle strategies, herbal medicine, and Prophetic health principles where appropriate.
Yes. Naturopathy is a safe, evidence-informed system of healthcare when practiced by a qualified professional. I only recommend treatments that are suitable for your personal health history, and I work with you to ensure everything is realistic, practical, and safe for your circumstances.
Absolutely. I believe in an integrative approach to healthcare. I often collaborate with GPs and other health professionals to ensure you receive the most comprehensive care possible. I respect the role of modern medicine and aim to complement, not replace, it.
Yes. I understand that investing in your health can feel overwhelming, so I offer flexible payment plans, such as Afterpay, to make it more accessible. We can discuss options during your initial consultation.
Yes, in many cases you can, but it’s important to be careful. Some supplements and herbal medicines can interact with prescription medications, either reducing their effectiveness or causing unwanted side effects. As a qualified naturopath with a background in public health and gut microbiome research, I always review your current medications before making any recommendations, ensuring that everything prescribed is safe, evidence-based, and compatible with your treatment plan.
At present, Naturopathy in Australia does not attract private health insurance rebates due to government policy changes. However, I keep my services fairly priced and offer payment flexibility to ensure care remains accessible.
Hijama is a traditional Prophetic therapy that involves applying cups to the skin to create suction, which stimulates blood flow and helps the body’s natural detoxification and healing processes. When practiced safely, it can be a powerful complementary therapy.
Clients often report benefits for:
Musculoskeletal pain (back, neck, shoulder pain, arthritis)
Migraines and headaches
Detoxification and improved circulation
Fatigue, stress, and mental clarity
Digestive complaints
General wellbeing and prevention
Hijama can be performed anytime for health reasons, but there are also specific recommended days in the lunar calendar (17th, 19th, and 21st) that are traditionally recommended for cupping. I guide clients on the most suitable timing depending on whether their goal is therapeutic (targeting a condition) or preventative (for general wellness).
